Jennifer Garner Honored By Her Home State

It may not be an Oscar, but Jennifer Garner is still thrilled. Yesterday she was awarded the title “West Virginian of the Year.”
Charleston, West Virginia’s newspaper The Charleston Gazette-Mail proudly announced yesterday their choice to name Garner as their top pick for the honor, “For her dedication, work ethic and unique role as role model and ambassador for West Virginia,”
The “Alias” actress confessed her love for her home state (she moved there when she was four years old), saying, “I like to do the things that are familiar. I like to see people I grew up with. I always go to Taylor Books. I love going home to my church – Christ Church United Methodist. I probably visit a Dairy Queen, and I love the farmer’s market.”
And Jen’s younger sister, Susannah Carpenter (who still lives in Charleston) agrees. “Everyone in my family has a deep love of West Virginia.” Mom Pat Garner added, “She’s pretty passionate about her love of West Virginia. She just considers it home.”

All I wanted was take theatre classes, and now I wish I could go back and take philosophy.” Jennifer on her philosophy of life: “Happiness is your own responsibility.”

Howard Stern Annoyed of Ben Affleck

Outspoken DJ Howard Stern insists that Ben Affleck and his wife Jennifer Garner are making his life a living hell. Howard lives in the same building as the couple and is furious over the paparazzi attention they're getting. Howard says, "It's unbelievable. Now I know why co-ops block famous people from getting into buildings." The couple is renting the swanky Upper West Side apartment while Garner completes her Broadway run of 'Cyrano De Bergerac.' Maybe they should get a schedule going with the paps. Becoming BFF with the paparazzi is a new trend in Hollywood; they should try it in NYC.

Glamour's 2007 Women of the Year

Last night was the The Glamour Magazine 2007 Women of The Year Awards at Lincoln Center in New York City.Being honored as the "Woman of the Year" was none other than Jennifer Garner. Garner was picked because the editors believed that she is a woman with a ‘successful career and happy family life while remaining stylish and elegant’. Others who looked fabulous at the event were Jennifer Connelly, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Brooke Shields and many more.

Jennifer Garner To Create Show For Mommies

We might be seeing a lot more of Jennifer Garner on TV. Garner is planning on developing a talk show directed at mothers. She says, "I feel like women, and especially mothers, are disenfranchised from our families. We don't have the same support group around us that we did a generation ago."All my girlfriends and my sisters were having these same issues, and I felt like 'Why isn't this being addressed?' There are tons of talk shows, yet there's nothing that is specifically for them."For some strange reason, I see her being a great fit as the host of this kind of show. She's a caring and loving mother that looks like she would like to help out other mothers as well. Do it Jennifer! Build that courage! Maybe you can even have mommy-to-be J.Lo be your co-host.

Affleck Picks Red Sox Over Wife's Play

Actor Ben Affleck is such a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan that he's going to check out his wife Jennifer Garner's play in advance so it doesn’t interfere with the game. Garner's new play officially opens on November 1, 2007, which is also when the Red Sox's best-of-seven series with the Colorado Rockies is expected to reach fever pitch. Affleck says, "Fortunately for me, I've already been to see Jennifer on Broadway, so there's not really a conflict. I'm not required to go see that again. "She's a very big Red Sox fan so she'll be I'm sure running back during the intermission checking the score." Affleck also recently ditched the premiere of his movie 'Gone Baby Gone' to catch the Red Sox game on TV.

Jennifer Garner Hopes To Boldly Go To J.J. Abrams’ ‘Star Trek’

Like peanut butter and jelly or iPhones and unexpected roaming charges, it’s hard to imagine Jennifer Garner without J.J. Abrams. The dynamic duo go all the way back to “Felicity,” through 105 episodes of “Alias” and beyond.
“He rocks; I would do anything for him,” she said of her friend. And now, as his highly-anticipated “Star Trek” reboot continues to film, Garner wants to go where few actresses have gone before.
“I just want to be a Klingon in the movie,” the A-list “Juno” star pleaded, insisting that she’d even take a cameo. “I just want to walk through [the frame] as a Klingon.”
Of course, no one will confirm that the hairy, wrinkly-foreheaded aliens are even in next winter’s “Trek” (unless Garner just coughed up something Abrams told her). Either way, the actress said she’s something of a Trekkie herself, and can’t wait to see what J.J. brings to outer space.
“J.J. is kind of like Juno,” she laughed, referencing Ellen Page’s quick-witted character in her current movie. “It’s just his energy, his personality, and he’s as smart as anybody I’ve ever met. Both funny and nice.”
On a semi-related note, Garner also spoke with us about the thank you credit in “Gone Baby Gone,” in which her husband Ben listed her as “Jennifer Affleck”. “No [I’m not changing my name], that was just kind of him thanking me,” she revealed. “It was because, the way that I helped in that movie was not as a professional person, it was as a wife. That was sweet though, right?”
Cue the “awwws” and sound up the violins - but if Garner truly wants to portray a warrior alien who lives by the motto “Revenge is a dish best served cold,” she’ll need to drop the sweet stuff. So, we’ll be expecting a “Jennifer Garner” credit, okay J.J.?

Jennifer Garner Hopes to Be in Star Trek XI

Jennifer Garner would like to take on the role of a Klingon in the new Star Trek movie.
As reported at the MTV Movie Blog, Jennifer Garner would like to team up with Abrams again and appear in Star Trek XI as a Klingon. "I just want to be a Klingon in the movie," said Garner. "I just want to walk through [the frame] as a Klingon."
There is no official confirmation that Klingons will even appear in Star Trek XI, so Garner's desire to play a Klingon may just be the wish of a Star Trek fan, which she claims to be.
Garner has worked with Abrams before, in Felicity, where she played Hannah Bibb, and in Alias, where she portrayed the character of Sydney Bristow. Abrams was executive producer on both of the shows. Garner has high praise for Abrams. "He rocks. I would do anything for him. J.J. is kind of like Juno," she said, referring to a quick-witted intelligent character in the recently released film Juno. "It'’s just his energy, his personality, and he's as smart as anybody I’ve ever met. Both funny and nice."

Jennifer Garner Wants to Boldly Go as an Alien

While she's no Gary Oldman, Jennifer Garner has made a pretty decent career for herself in polar opposite parts. Most recently, she's yearned for a baby of her own in the hugely raved about Juno, but she's also the international spy lady behind the old television show Alias. That means, of course, that she has close ties to J.J. Abrams, who was the creator of the hit show. He also just so happens to be the man who is putting together the new Star Trek sequel. Now she's hoping that'll help nab her a part in the new movie, according to MTV.Talking about Abrams, Garner says: "He rocks; I would do anything for him." But before anything, she's hoping for a little favor. "I want to be a Klingon in the movie. I just want to walk through [the frame] as a Klingon." Just when you think you have her pegged, you find out that she's a Trekkie! Or at least, "something of a Trekkie." Now this dream would depend upon there actually being Klingons in the film. However, MTV did point out that there is also the possibility that this is a slipped detail about the production. Whether Abrams told her about the inclusion of Klingons, or Garner is just being hopeful, it would definitely be another impressive morph for the actress. On the other side: Will the Klingons provide the dramatic struggle for all of the young lads and ladies working their way towards fame on the Enterprise? Sound off below.
